Authorization & Billing Specialist Opportunity!

To pursue additional growth opportunities, one of our Authorization & Billing Specialists has transferred to a new and exciting role within the company!  This has left us with a critical opening that must be filled quickly.   This is a full-time position based out of our Otsego, MN office.

As the Authorization & Billing Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with outside agencies, Accurate Home Care personnel, and clients to obtain and maintain prior authorizations for services.   A few of your major responsibilities will include:

  • Tracking and completing authorization renewals for multiple payer sources
  • Checking benefits and eligibility with various payer sources
  • Submitting changes as needed for Authorizations on a frequent basis
  • Working on Aging for various payer plans and ensuring claims are billed and followed up on in a timely manner

While these are just a few of your primary responsibilities, there is usually something new to learn and projects to work on.   

Job Requirements

To be considered a qualified candidate, you must have:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of medical billing experience with insurance verification, authorizations; patient data gathering and insurance A/R management

or

  • Associates Degree,  and  1 year of medical billing experience with insurance verification, authorizations; patient data gathering and insurance A/R management

and

  • Proven responsibilities requiring attention to detail and compliance with requirements of company policy and external agency regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand an EOB
  • Experience with billing softwares
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
